Desired Candidate Qualities:
The candidate will have practical real-world experience working with the DCAA and DCMA and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a director of accounting or similar role in a government contracting private industry setting. The candidate will be an experienced and proven leader and will have managed a group or team, larger than 3 members for at least 5 years.
Skills:
Accounting
- Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of cost accounting concepts including but not limited to cash flow analysis, practical accounting experience in direct cost rates, and projections and payroll
Government Contracting
- Developing policies and procedures in compliant accounting systems; including the development of DCAA compliant accounting systems
- Experience with representing clients or company with DCAA and DCMA
- Assisting new and established government contractors with but not limited to; policies, rate development, cost submission, executive compensation issues, RFP and contract support, contract background, monitoring on cost pool structures and GSA schedules, variance and final vouchers, contract close outs
- Experienced with iRapt (Invoicing Receipt and Property Transfer) formally WAWF (Wide Area Work Flow)
- Familiarity with Joint Venture Mentor protégé programs, SCA (Service Contract Act), and FAR
- Knowledgeable of SBA and different SBA designations
- Experience with funding realignment and contract/funding limitations
- Exposure to software generally used by Government Contractors such as but not limited to:
- Deltek-Cost Point
- Procas
- QuickBooks
- Unanet
- Experience in cost analysis and developing cost volumes for company proposal efforts
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance related discipline
Leadership:
- Demonstrated management of multiple projects, deadlines and priorities using excellent time management, planning and organization skills
- Ability to apply strategic planning and thinking to problem solve and achieve short term and long-term goals of the firm
- Proficient at accelerating the growth of others through training, delegation, empowerment, accountability and recognition
- Proven to motivate, persuade, and influence outcomes through effective communication
- Aptitude in general IT knowledge with the ability to work through minor to moderate on site-IT and software related issues
